This year students will receive small group reading instruction. The 2nd and 3rd grade teachers are collaborating together in order to provide small, individualized reading groups for 2nd and 3rd grade students. In this program, we will each meet with three groups of four to six students daily for half an hour, based on reading levels. Small group instruction allows children to read material which is selected based on their individual reading ability, thus helping them work at their own pace to learn skills to become fluent, skillful readers.
